Mr Deimer had lived with his friend from Dublin for the last three years whilst at university. With his friends being from Ireland, S. Patrick's Day was always a big celebration in their flat in which a great deal of Guinness got consumed. Mr Deimer wanted to buy his friend a gift which would remind him of their time at university.
